Current project schedule
Prepare a list of active projects, contract values, expected completion dates, claim milestones and significant variations.
Receivables and retention
Identify aged debtors, expected claim payment dates and retention amounts. Explain material disputes or overdue claims rather than leaving them unexplained.
Materials and subcontractors
Set out the next major cash commitments for materials, subcontractors and payroll. A funding request should be connected to specific upcoming obligations where possible.
Existing finance and security
List equipment finance, vehicle leases, overdrafts and other secured facilities. A lender may need to understand existing security interests and priority.
Tax and statutory liabilities
Where business tax liabilities form part of the funding purpose, prepare current evidence and obtain tax advice separately. Do not assume that refinancing a tax liability changes the underlying tax treatment.
Forward pipeline
Provide signed contracts, awarded work or other credible pipeline evidence where available. A pipeline is more useful when linked to timing, margin expectations and working-capital requirements.
